How to install CWM Recovery on LG Optimus F3 Virgin Mobile


CWM Touch Recovery for Virgin Mobile LG Optimus F3 (LS-720). The recovery should work with all firmware versions. I tried to make this newbie friendly for those who are not tech savvy but if you do have any questions I will try to answer them. Everything works that needs to and it has been tested extensively with no problems. But I still have to tell you…

HOW TO INSTALL CWM RECOVERY ON LG G3 SMARTPHONES 

1.       Go to the Playstore and download Flashify.

2.       Download the recovery image below to your device or copy from your PC.

3.       Open Flashify on your device and tap ‘Recovery image’.

4.       Tap “Choose a file” and browse to where you copied the image to your sdcard.

5.       Select the recovery image (cwmt-6.4.0.8_ls720.img) and flash.

6.       You’re all done.

How to Enter Recovery


Power On: Hold the volume rocker in the down position and power button when you turn on the phone. Hold both until you see the prompt to release them.

Reboot: If from a reboot then using the same key combo as above (vol. down & pwr), you need to start holding just before the LG logo appears. Hold both until you see the prompt to release them.

#-It takes a few seconds for recovery to load so be patient.


Should you ever not have root access and need to access the custom recovery mode, you can always use the hardware keys to get the device in the recovery mode. The hardware keys will be the same as the hardware keys you used to use to boot in the stock recovery mode.

How to flash zip files using CWM TWRP recovery


If you want to improve your android device performance or to try out different Custom roms or mods on your device it is required to flash them via a recovery like CWM, TWRP etc… For the android users who are quite familiar with the recoveries, it is easy to flash various zip files via recovery.


You can make your device special by installing device specific mods or tweaks and you can show off to your friends. Many devices have some unique wonderful mods that are not available to other smartphones, so all you need to do is to dig a little deeper in the development forums like XDA developers. Once you check these forums about these tweaks and updates, you’ll  find packages in Zip formats and see words like Flash it via recovery and you might wonder what it is if you’re new to all this. So here we are today to show you how to flash these Zip packages using various custom recoveries.

So follow the instructions carefully on how to install a flashable zip package using CWM/TWRP recovery. For the case of simplicity, lets take the zip you want to flash by the name Sample.zip through out the post.

How to Flash Zip File Using CWM/TWRP Recovery

Be sure to transfer the Sample.zip to your phone and remember the location of the file.

You will need to flash them now on your device using either of ClockworkMod (CWM) or TWRP recovery.

Guide for CWM Recovery Users

  1. Boot into recovery mode. If you’re rooted, the easiest way to boot into recovery mode would be using the QuickBoot app. If not rooted, then search for the hardware keys combo for entering to the recovery on your device.
  2. Create a Nandroid Backup from recovery. It’s optional but very important to do, so that in case something goes wrong you can restore to current status easily. For making a Nandroid Backup, go to Backup And Restore » Backup.
  3.  Install the Zip file:
    •  Select Install zip » Choose zip from sdcard (or external sdcard, you know where your files are) » browse to the location where you saved the file and select the Sample.zip file.
  1. Reboot your device. Go back to the main menu of recovery and tap on Reboot » then, tap on System to reboot your phone.

Guide for TWRP Recovery Users

  1. Boot into recovery mode. If you’re rooted, the easiest way to boot into recovery mode would be using the QuickBoot app. If not rooted, then search for the hardware keys combo for entering to the recovery on your device.

  2. Create a Nandroid Backup from recovery. It’s optional but very important to do, so that in case something goes wrong you can restore to current status easily. For making a Nandroid Backup, go to Backup » and select all check boxes and swipe on the Swipe to confirm option at the bottom of the screen to confirm backup.

  3. Install the Zip file:

    • Tap on Install » browse to the location where you saved the file and select the Sample.zip file. Now at the bottom of the screen, do a swipe on the Swipe to confirm flash option to begin flashing.

  1. Reboot your device. Go back to the main menu of recovery and tap on Reboot » then, tap on System to reboot your phone.

How to Root Sprint HTC One and Install CWM / TWRP Recovery


Step 1: First of all, connect your Sprint HTC One to the PC using original USB cable i.e. the cable that came with it.


Step 2: Now, from the folder where you have extracted the “Hasoon2000’s All-In-One Toolkit for Sprint HTC One”, double on the “.exe” file to open up the toolkit.


Step 3: You will see the interface of the Hasoon2000’s toolkit, just click on “Unlock Bootloader” to first unlock the Bootloader.


Step 4: As soon as, the Bootloader is unlocked you can install recovery on your Sprint HTC One by clicking on “TWRP”.


Step 5: The flashing process of TWRP recovery will complete in few minutes.


Step 6: Now, to achieve permanent root access, you will again have to open “Hasoon2000’s Toolkit” and under “Extras” click on “Perm Root” to gain permanent root access on your Sprint HTC One.


Step 7: When you are done with everything just reboot your device.

How to install CWM recovery on MTK android devices

How to install CWM recovery on MTK android devices




This is how to install ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery on MTK devices. With ClockWorkMod, you can install custom roms, backup or restore your rom factory set device etc.

Note
Your device must be rooted
No file is lost during this process


Download and install android adb drivers from here or here.
Download MTK droid tools from here
Learn how to root your device from here


Launch MTK droid tools.

Connect your device to the PC and wait for MTK droid tools to detect it.

If the device is rooted a yellow box is seen at the bottom left.

So make MTK droid tools to gain root access on your device by clicking the ROOT button on the right

Grant Super user request on your device.

The yellow box will now turn into green.

Click on the back up, root, recovery tab

Tick to use boot from phone.

Then click Recovery and Boot button.

A dialogue box will appear "To make CWM recovery automatically ?" Select Yes

A second dialogue box will appear "If the phone isnt loaded, it is necessary to flash this file through Flash Tool! Install patched boot to phone? " Select No

Another dialogue box "Install created recovery to phone?" Select Yes.

The last dialogue box will appear "To reload phone in recover?" Select Yes.

Your device will now boot into recovery

If that doesnt happen, press volume up and power button to boot into recovery mode.

Congrats!! you have just installed CWM to your device.

If you are one of them who own Lenovo K3 Note and want to do some experiment by rooting your phone, then you need to know the proper way to root Lenovo K3 Note. In this post I am going to tell you step by step way to Root Lenovo K3 Note.



Before we are going to proceed to root Lenovo K3 Note, you must know what smartphone is rooting. Here I want to let you know that rooting a device mean you are violating the warranty terms and condition. So be sure before rooting your Lenovo K3 Note.

How to Install CWM Recovery and Root Lenovo K3 Note

Install CWM Recovery

  1. Download the CWM recovery file on your computer –here

  2. Unzip the recovery package on desktop.

  3. Connect your K3 Note with your computer by using the USB cable.

  4. From the extracted folder run the py_cmd.exe executable file in order to run a cmd window; or just press and hold Shift keyboard key while right clicking on any blank space.

  5. Reboot your phone into fastboot mode by entering the following command: “adb reboot bootloader”.

  6. Install CWM recovery by entering in the cmd window: “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”.

  7. When done, enter “fastboot reboot”.

  8. Unplug the USB cable and go ahead and learn how to resume the root operation.

How to Gain Root access

  1. Download the SuperSU file from here; save it on desktop and don’t unzip anything.

  2. Connect your Lenovo K3 Note with your computer via USB cable.

  3. Transfer the root exploit on your device, then unplug the USB cord and power off your smartphone.

  4. Put your Android device in recovery mode.

  5. From recovery select “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.

  6. Pick the SuperSU file and complete the flashing operation.

  7. In the end, from main menu of recovery select “reboot system now”.
